Overview:

This position is responsible for working indoors unloading non-palletized railcars with a team of other workers. The average day will see 900, 50 lb. cases, lifted and stacked by each worker during their shift.

When not unloading railcars, workers who prove themselves reliable will be offered additional full-time work on railroad projects assisting railroad track workers and locomotive mechanics with various activities.

Hours and Pay:

Monday through Friday, beginning at 0600.

Workers will be paid 8 hours per railcar, even when you go home early. The railcars are normally done in 6.5 to 7 hours. We pay the 8 hours to incentivize offload and reward you for your work when you finish early.

Pay rate is $160 per 8-hour day (or still $160 if you finish early). Additional hours are paid at $20 per hour.

Qualifications:

18 years of age or older

Must have a valid driver’s license and provide their own transportation to/from work

Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship

Able to work well in a team and group environment and work well with others

Able to develop and maintain positive working relationships with coworker and supervisors

Able to work week days in the area of Washington, New Jersey

Good hand-eye coordination

Bilateral dexterity

Able to read, write and communicate (speak, hear and understand) English

Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved, written or oral instructions

Able to perform physically strenuous labor on a continuous basis

Able to stand for long periods of time

Able to lift 50 lbs frequently, 80 lbs occasionally, 125 lbs infrequently

Able to bend, lift, walk, stand, sit and use hand tools for an extended time
