Join our company and be part of an innovative team that’s First in Food. Location Description Michael Foods, Inc., located in Bloomfield, Nebraska, is one of our only cage free facilities. The facility is located three miles outside of Northeast Nebraska’s busiest community. Bloomfield is a haven for those who prefer small-town life over city living and is located less than 30 miles from recreation areas where you can enjoy fishing, boating, kayaking and camping. Our location produces liquid egg product that is sent to our other facilities for further processing. Responsibilities JOB SUMMARY: This HR admin position will be cross trained in various areas for HR related activities including onboarding, recruiting hourly (non-exempt) workforce, benefits administration, and the tracking and communication of information for the Bloomfield and Plainview locations. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Hourly Recruiter focus area is staffing/recruiting for the hourly vacancies (support all Farm locations): Update job descriptions and job postings as needed. Recruitment (non-exempt) - posting vacancies, interviews, offers, pre-employment, orientation, job fairs, school presentations, tours, etc. Track and update applicant and vacancy information electronically, using the ATS (applicant tracking system), Excel, and other systems. Provides hiring recommendations based upon a set criteria and set qualifications. Assists applicants as needed with job applications, accepting offers electronically, initiating background checks, scheduling drug tests, and electronic onboarding documents. Retention efforts EBI (I-9) expiration and system maintenance Assists with administration of various human resources programs and functions. HR Representatives will have areas of focus, based on department needs. Employee gifts Attendance tracking & discipline notices Service awards Update job description and job posting as needed Recruitment (non-exempt) - posting vacancies, interviews, offers, pre-employment, orientation, job fairs, school presentations, tours, etc. Recognition (YMADs) Leave of absence Anniversary and birthday calendars Employee meals and events Exit Interviews and Stay Interviews Retention efforts New hire benefit enrollments, annual enrollments and insurance questions Ensures company bulletin boards and postings are current Filing EBI (I-9) expiration and system maintenance Performs administrative duties (data entry, answering phones, photocopying, faxing, filing, etc.). Assists employees as needed. Compiles, updates and generates reports (audits, etc.). Assists with trainings, presentation and/or events (designing Power Point presentations, room set-up, etc.). Provides back-up to others on the admin team as needed and will cross train for accounts payable and safety tracking. Participates on committees as needed for HR/Safety presence and support. Assumes personal responsibility to ensure safe and healthy workplace for everyone. Adhere to all safety policies and procedures and incorporate safety and health in all jobs and tasks. Adheres to Quality work practices, follows GMP’s, maintains sanitary conditions and ensures that product quality is maintained. Reports to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety and quality. Able to work overtime and holidays when needed. Monitors inventory of office supplies and equipment and purchases when needed. Complete special projects and other duties as assigned, ex. newsletter, trainings, postings, etc. Qualifications EDUCATION AND EXPERIECE REQUIRED: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups, customers/vendors or employees of the organization. Professional English oral and written communication skills required. Bilingual in Spanish desired. Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram or schedule form LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS: Driver’s license PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS: Bachelor’s in Human Resources, Business or Management preferred. Previous HR experience desired. Previous clerical experience desired. Must be able to work independently or in a team as needed. Proficient knowledge and use of computer programs desired (Word and Excel required; Power Point). Must have effective follow-up, problem solving, communication, creativity and interpersonal skills. Must be able to multi-task and identify and change priorities efficiently to keep up with business demand. Must be organized and detail oriented. Must be professional in dealing with personnel issues including maintaining confidential information. Current and valid driver’s license preferred. Knowledge of ATS and/or HRIS system desired.
