ASSISTANT TREASURER
The Town of Blackstone is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Assistant Treasurer. This is a full-time union position for 33.5 hours per week with an excellent benefit package. The Assistant Treasurer must have the ability to perform various duties including general office procedures. The Assistant Treasurer maintains all payroll and personnel records and acts as liaison between employees and Retirement boards, medical/dental and life insurance companies and ensures that notification has been made pertaining to employee enrollments and terminations i.e., medical/dental/life, and Retirements boards, as well as documentation and records for auditing. Assists in entering payments daily for real estate, personal property motor vehicle and water/sewer bills, including importing files from Lockbox and City Hall Systems and insuring end of day balancing of cash drawers. Reconciliation of the cashbook to the bank statements, as well as reconciliation to the General ledger.
Minimum Requirements: Must be eligible to be bonded, strong verbal and written communication skills. 3 years’ experience with customer service, 3 years’ experience with Microsoft word, 2 years’ experience working with finances or accounting.
Preferred Requirements: College degree from an accredited college preferred, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Experience with Munis software, 5 years’ experience with customer service, 5 years’ experience with Microsoft office, Municipal experience, knowledge of municipal laws and regulations.
